  • Positives: I have the horrible habit of hunching forward, creating lower back pain and severe muscle tightness around my shoulders and neck that in turn causes tension headaches. Wearing this does help me keep proper posture in my upper body by putting light pressure on my upper back and around my shoulders, encouraging me to straighten my back and hold my shoulders back and down where they belong. This has helped relieve the various pains my bad posture causes. When I do inevitably start hunching forward, the straps around my shoulders start pinching and make me realize what I’m doing and reminds me to straighten up again. Seems to be made of good, durable material — I don’t see this falling apart the way many of the other posture correctors have been accused of. The straps are a little stiff and so dig into my shoulders after a bit but that might be due to it not being broken it in yet. The rest of the material is soft enough that it’s not scratchy or irritating, even on my overly sensitive skin, and there is no pinching around the armpits. It hooks in front so it’s easy to put on/take off and it fits over a normal bra comfortably and has a triple-hook clasp so there is no fear of it coming unclasped on it’s own.

Negatives: Where most bras have a bit of fabric overlap in order to keep the clasp hooks from digging into your skin, this does not. I clasp this on the first hook and all three hooks tend to dig into my chest. Also, if I’m wearing a knit shirt, the bottom hook catches on the material so have to be very careful about getting it out without tearing my shirt. The way this is designed, it does press the breasts inward/upward and makes me look like I’m a cup size larger. While this looks awesome, it becomes a problem after I’ve been wearing it for more than a couple hours as I start feeling a steadily building pressure on my breastbone that makes it feel like it’s hard to take a deep breath. The longer I wear it, the more pronounced the pressure becomes. The first time I wore this I kept it on for roughly six hours before I felt like I couldn’t catch my breath at all and had to take it off. The way this is designed to gently pull the shoulders back makes the straps sit high up on the shoulders near the collarbone and the back comes up level with the tops of my shoulders — so can’t wear this with any shirt that doesn’t cover the collarbone and the entire back without it looking funny (even normal T-Shirts show the straps a little bit). Also, where the straps sit on my shoulders, they press down directly onto my worst muscle knots which makes them very painful. I believe this will correct itself as my posture improves on its own and my knots loosen up but at the moment, one more reason I can’t wear this for long periods of time.

Overall judgement: if you have bad posture, I highly recommend this product to help improve it provided you plan on only wearing 2 or 3 hours at a time and have a plan in place to take it off, let yourself breathe, and then put it back on a short time later. I DO NOT recommend this if all you want to do is make your breasts look larger/fuller. It’s not worth the discomfort it causes when you can just buy a padded bra and get the same results.

  • I purchased a size M (36-38) in white. I’m in my mid-30s and had a child around 9 years ago, so my breasts aren’t quite as perky as they used to be. Primarily, I was looking for a product that would help correct my hunching at work (I’m a seamstress) and home (while on the computer). The bust/cleavage was a huge bonus. This product lifts and pushes breasts inward to give you bigger bust and more cleavage. The cleavage can be adjusted with the front closure. It has good construction. As a person who sews medical garments daily and am an avid sewer at home, I am very aware of construction quality in garments. There is a single bone (feels like a spiral bone, but cannot confirm) in the back of the garment. The straps are wider than bra straps, which I feel helps distribute the tension and therefore does not dig in as much. It does irritate me a bit in the pit/side of the breast area as it rides a bit high for my comfort. Sometimes the front creeps up a bit, but something very easily adjusted once every few hours if you are moving around a lot (this usually happens when I’m stretching my back and such to loosen up at work or at computer). Once you are used to the garment, it doesn’t feel as awkward. The front has a three hook clasp. Unlike another reviewer, mine does have an overlap for the last clasp, so the hooks do not dig into my flesh. I have worn mine on the last clasp when I don’t want all the cleavage and on the tightest clasp to give me maximum cleavage. I had hoped that it would help with my posture a bit more, but it does help more than not wearing it at all. The longest I’ve worn this is for about 8 hours and I had no issues with pain in my chest or from straps digging in. The pit area was a bit irritated, however. Overall, the product was worth what I paid for it…even if it is just used for when I want some nice cleavage.

I have had the Chic Shapers for one month; due to some reviews I was not sure of size/comfort so purchased L and XL. The two sizes look and feel about the same to me so I kept all 4 shapers because they improve the shape of my body. I did not think my posture was that bad until I put on the Chic Shaper–and had to tighten my jeans belt one notch. Keep in mind these act like a brace–and therefore like any brace there may be some discomfort and adjustment necessary!

I love my Chic Shaper, it pulls my shoulders back and also lifts my bust up, it make me look like I had a breast lift and gives you a younger looking bust, no more sagging boobies! All this and it’s comfortable too….I feel so confident when I wear it. The only thing that I dont’ like about it is that the straps show when you weat, of course they did send the clear plastic straps but I haven’t put those on, I need to do that! I take a small and it fits perfect…I have a small frame only 34 D bra size. It’s the best $[...] I’ve spent in a long time! My husband loves it when I wear it too!

  • My wife and I were in a hotel room when we saw the ad for Chic Shaper and she made a spontaneous comment that she would like to try one. My wife was a B cup when I married her, but she quickly became a D cup when she began breastfeeding our firstborn. She continues to breastfeed our second born, but has reduced somewhat to a C cup. Due to the extra weight, she has sagged and this has been bothering her. So I decided to purchase one and see what happened. When she opened up the gift she let me know she would use this only for special occasions. However, she wore it everyday for about a month and has definitely taken a liking to it. She doesn’t wear it everyday now, but I think this has helped her and, in opposition to some other reviews, she finds it very comfortable.
