youtube.com MIAMI – Since 1978 when Renzo Russo created the brand, Diesel has been well known in the fashion world for its urban quality looks and its high variety of denim. The brand’s runway show at Miami Swim Fashion Week 2012 by Mercedes-Benz in the Cabana Grande was no exception. The models had fun getting ready backstage. The swimwear was bright, vibrant, and colorful. What stood out most not the breathtaking models themselves, but Miss Kristin Cavallari modelling a stunning glass bikini at the very end of the show. She’s the world’s first ever to do so. The bikini was one-shouldered and cobalt blue. There were also three other pieces from the capsule collection created by Diesel and SKYY Vodka. youtube.com SAO PAULO – Unlike other swimwear collections at Sao Paulo Fashion Week Summer 2012, the Agua de Coco brand had the fabulous Brazilian photographer Cassio Vasconcellos photograph beautiful pictures of the beach, palm trees, and color blocked squares which were later implemented onto the bathing suits. Floral prints were placed on some swimsuits through color pencils. Geometric shapes were found in the form of cutouts. Colors contrasted one another in unique combinations of pink and orange and blue and green. Gold detail made some swimsuits more effective. A beautiful display of Brazilian and couture combined. youtube.com SAO PAULO – Movimento, Movement in Portugeuse, capped off their collection at Sao Paulo Fashion Week with a theme that featured the movement of art, especially highlighting painting and color. This swimwear collection showcased bikinis with a high-waisted cut, paying tribute to the retro bikinis of yesteryear. Clothes cam in green, yellow, orange, pink, red, and black and white combos. The label collaborates with George Barbosa, who hand painted the beachwear over a white canvas, which made it look very sleek, European, and authentic. youtube.com RIO DE JANEIRO – With a big kiss from supermodel Izabel Goulart, FashionTV is front and center as Lenny kicks off her 20th anniversary swimwear show. Lenny’s swimwear show had some of the most interesting art deco prints of the entire FFW Fashion Rio Summer 2012, and it certainly didn’t scream summer as some of the other shows did (except for the fact that the models were modeling bathing suits.) It did scream fashion, however, as conventional bikinis and one piece bathing suits gave way to geometric prints and asymmetrical shapes.
