Summer is fun for you and your baby, so you need modern baby swimwear. Health professional and doctors recommend swimming for babies from one month onwards. There is no need to wait for what was thought of in the past, that baby needs to have their two month immunisations first. The earlier a baby is introduced to the swimming pool, is conducive to teaching them how to swim early on in age. Baby needs to be appropriately dressed in swimwear.

It is difficult to find swimwear for a baby under three months old as manufacturers usually cater for sizes from three months to twelve months in baby swimwear. As babies wear nappies, the main concern for parents once was in case their child has an “accident” in the water. Chlorine in pools can combat such problems so it is not really an issue now, though to face an embarrassment parents thought it better not to bring babies into the pool as it was difficult to know what to do if any solid waste was deposited in the water. 2. Flotation Aids

For children to learn to swim there are many aids available and one of them are “water Wings” which slide over the arms, keeping a child afloat so that they are free to splash around. They can also play freely in the pool, but unfortunately, are unsuitable for the under 1 year olds. For the younger babies there are specially designed flotation devices, as it is generally recommended that they stay with their parents at all times, although swimming classes can start at 12 weeks of age for babies.

3. Swimming Trunks and Swimsuits

You can find baby swimwear in many styles, including the full body tanks and the trunks as worn by children who are older and adults. You can buy one or two piece swimsuits for girls. Most importantly, you should remember that baby’s skin needs proper sunscreen as they are very sensitive so should be well protected at all times, especially in the pool. Sunburn can get nasty so waterproof sun protection is required.
